Chapter History

The Cahuilla Chapter, NSDAR, is named in honor of the Indigenous people of the Coachella Valley. The name “Cahuilla” signifies “master” or “powerful,” reflecting not only physical strength, but also mental, spiritual, and inner resilience.

Organized in 1948, the chapter celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. Founded with just 26 members, the Cahuilla Chapter has steadily expanded both its membership and its range of activities, and today proudly includes more than 170 members.
